We are so excited. We are ready to revitalize our school yard together tomorrow. Many volunteers have come out this week to get the playground skeleton ready. The gardens are looking great. The gardeners have put in so many hours this week getting prepared.
Tomorrow we build a playground, tomorrow we build for our school, and, tomorrow we build for our community. Tomorrow we teach our kids that everyone's contribution is treasured and that together, we can build our community's future.

Playground Dedication - Our Fallen Hero
Special Olympics Canada is saddened to learn of the tragic loss of a dear friend who has made a considerable contribution to so many. Constable Robert Plunkett, an Ontario Officer with York Region Police Services, was a leader in both the community and to the Special Olympics organization. Constable Plunkett was involved with the Law Enforcement Torch Run for over 15 years and the 1997 World Winter Games. Through his long standing support of our organization he also served as the Chairman for the 2000 Special Olympics Ontario Provincial Games. Through his leadership over $1 million was raised for the Special Olympic Games. In addition, as a result of his devotion and support the Law Enforcement Torch Run has grown significantly in Ontario raising funds and awareness for athletes with an intellectual disability. Our sincere sympathy and condolences go out to Constable Plunkett's wife and children. He will be dearly missed.
Track Dedication
The New 400 metre tack at Colborne School will be dedicated to the memory of Mr. Bob Leckie, WWII veteren. Mr. Leckie was a volunteer speaker for the Memory Project. Created in 2001, The Memory Project is the Dominion Institute's flagship educational programme, designed to connect veterans and students online and in classrooms across the country. Mr. Leckie would come to Colborne school to speak to the kids at rememberence day services. He passed away in May 2008.
